Yvette St. Hilaire-Field

December 31, 1969 — February 7, 2024

Yvette St. Hilaire-Field took her last breath at home in the company of her husband, granddaughter, and daughter on February 7, 2024. Yvette died due to complications from Muscular Dystrophy. She was 72 years old.

Yvette Marie St. Hilaire was born in Minneapolis, MN on January 15, 1952, to Emily Anna (Spores) St. Hilaire and Robert Louis St. Hilaire (Louie).

Yvette grew up in Faribault, MN. She graduated from Faribault High School in 1973.

Yvette married Bryan Richard Ricke on June 15, 1974. This union produced two children Elesia Marie Ricke born March 5, 1976, and Jacob Zebulan Ricke born November 26, 1978. They resided in Faribault, MN and Kenyon, MN.

They later divorced. Yvette and her children moved briefly to Durand, WI but eventually settled in Eau Claire, WI.

Yvette met Matthew Hansen Field (Matt) on July 4, 1985. Yvette attended CVTC in the medical/office program. She was a stay-at-home mom until she became an independent Housekeeper. Matt and Yvette bought their first house together on the east hill in 1988 and got married on October 23, 1992.

Yvette loved all animals, especially cats, dogs, birds, horses, rabbits and Giraffe’s. Through the years she saved the lives of many wild and feral animals.

Yvette’s hobbies were gardening, reading, camping, nature, watching westerns, and any show about Alaska or animals.

Yvette loved her children and granddaughter very, very much. Yvette’s daughter, husband, and

granddaughter were able to be with her during the last three weeks of her life.

The family would like to thank Interim Hospice Healthcare, especially Kim and Lisa who brightened her days and provided outstanding care.

Yvette was preceded in death by her Grandparents: Noah and Anna Spores, and Theodore and Mary St. Hilaire; Father and Mother in laws: Robert (Bob) and Shirley Field; Sister: Lori St. Hilaire-Taylor; Mother: Emily St. Hilaire, and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and beloved pets.

Yvette is survived by her Husband: Matt Field of Eau Claire, WI; Granddaughter: Aeris Ricke-Moy of Eau Claire, WI; Daughter: Elesia Ricke (Chris Lancette) of Perrysburg, OH; Son: Jacob Ricke of Eau Claire, WI; Cats: Daisy and Sassy; Grand Cats: Bubbles, Spork, and Winifred (Winnie); Father: Louie St. Hilaire of Safford, AZ; Sister: Debra Brantner of Safford, AZ; Brother’s: David (Rosalie) St. Hilaire of Prospect, TN, Terry St. Hilaire of Safford, AZ, and Gary (Josie) St. Hilaire of Safford, AZ; Uncle: Joe (Ethel) St. Hilaire of Safford, AZ; Brother and Sister in law: Andy (Rita) Field of Chippewa Falls, WI, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Yvette’s life is planned this summer.
