William (Bill) Arthur Belau, 64, of Eau Claire Wisconsin, passed away on March 19 th , 2024.
Bill was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on October 8 th , 1959. A lifetime resident of Eau Claire, Bill graduated from North High and then received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Bill was an enthusiastic fan of history, something that was readily noticeable to any and all who had the opportunity to spend time with him. As such, he was also a natural storyteller with a gift for bringing the details to life, constantly keeping his friends and family members entertained. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved socializing and engaging fully with the people around him. Bill was also an accomplished mason, and he worked for Buesser Concrete for twenty years while he also managed his own small business as a mason and cement finisher. An avid lover of food and cooking, Bill was an eager gardener, loved experimenting in the kitchen, and was the grill maestro at family barbecues. He was a cat dad to Shadow, Sasha, and Whisper, and he rescued many kittens in his lifetime and adored them. Bill was also a talented athlete, active in a variety of sports, including downhill skiing, golfing, fishing, baseball, and tennis. Given his athletic ability, combined with his sociable personality and his fantastic sense of humor, he loved engaging in impromptu gags that showcased his athleticism and his command of the physical space he occupied. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his three brothers and two sisters Michael, Peter, Thomas, Susan, and Linda as well as his sisters-in-law Brenda and Janna, his brother’s-in-law Michael (LaLeike) and Ed (Cameron), and his nieces and nephews Stephanie, Robert, Danielle, and David.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Patrica and Dean Belau.
A Celebration of Life ceremony with family and friends will be scheduled later in the year. The Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.cremationsociety-wi.com .
