Virginia Dawn Wold was born on December 15
th
, 1935, to Jim and Jane (Bonus) Lund in Eau Claire, WI, and grew up on Vine St. Virginia graduated from E.C.S.H. in 1953. On August 22
nd
1954, she married Cecil Wold. Virginia worked briefly for Sunlight dairy, Bunny Bread Bakery, and National. Presto during the Vietnam conflict but she was probably best known as caregiver to several grandchildren and great grands. Virginia enjoyed cooking and baking and believed in an open-door policy, friends and family alike stopped by on a regular basis knowing there was always a fresh pot of coffee and a home baked treat. She was best known for her amazing pie crust. Virginia enjoyed bingo at the local churches and many rides to Red Wing bingo with Cecil. She could also be seen calling bingo on the bingo bus to L.C.O. in the 80’s.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Cecil Wold, children: Sherry Wold, James Wold, Steven (Kim) Wold, grandchildren: Stephan (Jessica Halupka) Wold, Heather (Travis) Garside, Olie (Melissa) Wold, Tanya Wold and Jolene Wold, also seven great grandchildren and a sister DyAnne S. Lund.
Visitation will be on Thursday January 11
th
, 2023 at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 Hillcrest Parkway Altoona, WI 54720 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lunch will follow. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
