Virgil Pederson

Virgil L. Pederson, age 77 of Shell Lake, WI passed away with his family by his side at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in Chippewa Falls on Thursday, July 20, 2023.  He was born on May 10, 1946 in Ada, MN.

Virgil was a proud Vietnam Veteran who was honorably discharged in 1971.  He married Sharon McDonald on December 22, 1973.  They were married just shy of 50 years.

He was a kind person whom everyone loved.  He was known as being a jokester, especially to his nurses. Virgil enjoyed camping, fishing and he was very mechanically inclined.  With the help of his wife, they raised 3 boys: Brian, Chad and Eric.   Virgil was a loving father and taught the boys everything he could.

Virgil is survived by his wife Sharon; sons: Brian (Jennifer), Chad (Jennifer) and Eric (Bethany); grandchildren: Amelia, Shawn, Lucas, Max and Caleb; sisters: Susan (Marvin) and Marie; and brothers: Richard, Allen (Theresa) and Peter.  He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death are his mother and brothers Arlan and Leonard.

Private graveside services with full military honors will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Spooner.
