Tracy Clark Saunders, age 55 of Galesville, WI, passed away peacefully at his home on June 1, 2021 after a long and difficult, four year battle with cancer.
Tracy was born in Black River Falls on January 11,1966 and lived most of his childhood in Gordon, WI just south of Superior.
In 1984, he graduated from Northwood High School in Minong, then went on to graduate from WITC – La Crosse’s HVAC program in 1986.
After technical college, Tracy started his career with Ekern Dairy in Blair installing / maintaining coolers for local famers and grocery stores while making many long-lasting friendships.
Beginning 1997 through the remainder of his career, Tracy worked for Gundersen Clinics in La Crosse as a Maintenance Mechanic installing / repairing HVAC systems, boilers, and coolers in addition to various other mechanical troubleshooting.
Tracy loved both his jobs and had countless stories of helping others and solving difficult mechanical problems for his external and internal customers. However, what Tracy loved most about his work was the people. He had a true sense of service to others, always willing to help. Tracy would give you the last shirt off his back if you asked. He cared deeply about his friends and family.
Tracy was an avid hunter and fisherman with a great love for the outdoors. He was a life-time member of the NRA as well as the Holmen Rod and Gun Club. He never missed a season and anyone who hunted with him knew he enjoyed simply sitting in the outdoors, patiently waiting for the perfect game to walk by.
Tracy is survived by his parents, Ron and Helen Saunders of Gordon, sister Penny Bretl (John) Stillwater, MN and nephews, Dylan Bretl, Stillwater, Jordan Bretl, Austin, TX and niece Amelia Bretl, Stillwater, his closest uncle who was more like a brother to him, Dennis Glasspoole, La Crosse, countless aunts, uncles and cousins from large families on both his parents’ side.
