Terrie Armitage, 65, of Chippewa Falls, passed away in her home the evening of January 9, 2025. She had been battling diabetes, severe COPD, and heart failure for over a year.
She was born on August 1, 1959, in Wycombe, England, to James and Phyllis (Savage) Armitage. She grew up in Oklahoma and attended McLoud High School. She was married to Jeff Kinderman of Chippewa Falls from 1985 to 2004.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Dawn, Jamie, and Cheryl, and brother Shawn. She is survived by her sister Heidi, her long-time partner Dean Pettis, her three children; Robin (Michael) Tillman, Kyle (Megan) Kinderman, and Justin (Olivia) Kinderman, and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held this spring.
Terrie dealt with a lot of adversity in her life; she could often be outspoken and brash, but her door was always open and everyone was welcome. She never hesitated to help those in need, even when she had very little herself.
She loved the simple life out in the country. Her home was always filled with a stray cat or two, and she found joy in feeding the birds, deer, and an occasional racoon. A fun day out for her consisted of lunch at Mi Casa, a little bit of shopping downtown or at Goodwill, and a stop at DJ's Mart on the way home. Her evenings were often spent watching cheesy 80s action movies and creating Diamond Dot masterpieces.
She loved gaudy jewelry, colorful clothes, floral purses, dying her hair bright colors, and collecting lipsticks she never wore.
If she were famous for anything, it was her southern-style chicken and dumplings, which were often requested at holidays and birthday parties in lieu of more traditional food and gifts.
On a summer day, Terrie could most likely be found putzing around her yard in a sundress with a glass of iced tea, checking on her vegetables, feeding the birds, and admiring the wildflowers. We know that when we get to Heaven, that is where we will find her.
Your family loves you and misses you, but we're so glad you're no longer suffering. Give hugs and kisses to the rest of the family for us.
