Tammy Jaenke (née Veach), aged 64, passed away at home on August 9, 2024, with her husband and daughter at her side.
Born in Chippewa Falls, she was a beloved figure in her community of friends. Known for her vivacious spirit and enduring strength, Tammy was a beacon of joy, fun and resilience. A true warrior as she battled metastatic breast cancer for 3 years, always with hope and wearing a smile. Tammy and Steve were business partners, dance partners and lovebirds throughout their marriage. They puckered up often for appreciative kisses; even in those last days as Steve comforted and tended to her needs.
A graduate of Chippewa Falls Senior High, Tammy was not only a successful small business owner of Jaenke Concrete and Excavation, but also a passionate advocate for breast cancer research following her diagnosis in 2014. Despite her illness, she continued to enjoy life, spending weekends at Lake Holcombe, pontooning, 4-wheeling, and vacationing with friends and family. She was also known for her unique "Tammyisms," such as “I need a little somethin’ somethin’” or “how about a spark me up sparky?” She did enjoy her glass of wine and Bloodies on Sundays with friends.
Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Gerald Veach; mother, Molly; sister, Mary; Aunts, Sharon and Evie; and sister-in-law, Brenda.
Tammy leaves behind her husband and true love of 36 years, Steve; daughter and best friend, Britt (Larry, his children, Marquis (Ashley and Kingston) and Amiyah; and her only grandchild, Joleah. Mother and Father-in-law, Bertha and Charlie Jaenke; sisters-in-law, Lisa (Lloyd) Gagner and Cheri (Jim) Dann; brother-in-law, Tom Jaenke; uncle, George (Dorothy) Zweifel. Her very special friend and cousin, Lonnie (Jim) Van Den Hueval and their children, Danielle and Reanna.
Tammy's love for her granddaughter, Joleah, was genuine and deep literally from the very moment Joleah was born. Joleah's many sporting activities provided Tammy with a constant source of grandmotherly bragging rights, which she exercised on a regular basis. She always would say "that girl is good at everything she does!".
A huge thank you to Tammy's long list of forever friends and neighbors who helped create many good times, great memories and much appreciated comfort during her long illness:

Special friends and bonus kids, Travis and Sarah Rowan and their boys, Carter and Jack. Nate and Jen Rivers and their kids, Devin, Carly and Brett. Natalie (John) Craig and daughter, Tava. Ryan and Amanda Koelker and their children, Kadence and Jaxon.
Neighbors and friends, Darlene and Stephanie Hill and Mina and Kenny Sigurdson. Thank you for making yourselves available on short notice, especially in the last few months.
A special thanks to Brenda at Pure Fitness 4 You for inspiring Tammy's inner warrior. Your coaching helped her to live an amazingly active life for almost ten years beyond diagnosis!
Fur babies, CJ, Nina and Angelo Piccolo. CJ, especially, was Tammy's guardian kitty, nestled at her side to the very end.
Because of her love of water and passion for Breast Cancer awareness, Family and friends will celebrate Tammy's life at the SandBar and Grill on Lake Wissota on October 12th from 2:00pm-? In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to any animal rescue or humane association or a cancer research organization of your choosing. Tammy's legacy of love, laughter, and courage will undoubtedly live on through the many lives she touched.
