Susan Keeton

December 2, 1952 — March 11, 2024

Susan “Sue” Keeton, 71, passed away surrounded by her family on March 11, 2024 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Sue was born December 2, 1952 in Eau Claire to Mary (Roach) and James O’Brien. Sue grew up on the west side of Eau Claire, attending St. James the Greater Catholic Church and graduating from Regis High School in 1970.

Sue was a devoted wife to her husband, William Keeton, Jr. and loving mother to her two sons, William Keeton III and Adam (Katherine, “Katie”) Keeton, and grandmother to her five grandchildren (Amelia, Abigail, Jett, William and Ames). More than anything, Sue loved spending time with her husband and lifelong companion at their home near the Chippewa River, enjoying the warm sun and tranquility. Sue and Bill also loved their regular trips to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and exploring the forests of northern Wisconsin in search of ruffed grouse in the fall.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband Bill and her parents. She is survived by her children and her five siblings Eugene (Anne) O’Brien, Patrick (De Miller) O’Brien, Mary Kay (Jeff) Burgess, Jayne (Steve) Wenberg and Margaret (Richard) Huleatt.

The family would like to extend sincerest thanks to her care teams at Mayo Clinic Health System, Care Partners and St. Croix Hospice who all provided great comfort and care to Sue as well as her family.

At her request, no funeral services will be held, although family and friends will be invited to attend a celebration of her life later this year.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be shared at www.cremationsociety-wi.com .
