Shelly Gilbert

Shelly Jean Gilbert, age 60, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday, August 6 ^th at Grace Edgewood Assisted Living in Altoona. Shelly was born on October 8 ^th , 1963 to Donald and Donna Gilbert in Eau Claire, WI. Shelly fought hard with health issues most of her life but was always happy and had a smile on her face. Shelly loved being social and around friends and family. She enjoyed going to the local establishment with her dad to visit friends and cheer on the Packers. She loved going shopping with her sister, Cindy, to the Dollar Tree to buy her “junk food” and soda that she loved so much. Shelly also had a love for clothes and adored anything that had leopard print on it. She also had a love for Elvis Presley and had quite the collection of his memorabilia.

Shelly is survived by her father, Donald; her sister Cindy; brother Robert (Connie) Gilbert; nieces Christine (Jeff) Beck; Mellisa Cesafsky and Gina Gilbert; nephews Jason (Ashley) Alley; Matthew (Sara) Gilbert and Phillip Dwyer; along with many great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her mother, Donna; sister, Julie and longtime companion; Philip Kliest.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Grace Edgewood and St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful care, support and love they gave Shelly throughout the years.
