Ruth Knudtson

Ruth A. Knudtson, 72, of Chandler, Arizona passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Ruth was born on August 2, 1951 to June and Richard Knudtson In Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  She was the oldest of ten siblings and grew up on a dairy farm just south of Fall Creek.  Ruth graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1969 and went on to study at Valparaiso University.  After receiving her Bachelor Degree in social work, she returned to school to get her Master's Degree at UW-Madison.

Ruth worked over ten years as a social worker in Appleton, Wisconsin for Lutheran Social Services counseling unwed mothers/fathers, being an advocate for children, and adoptions.

Ruth later returned to school and attended Palmer College of Chiropactic in Iowa.  Upon graduation, Ruth opened her own practice in the Mesa/Chandler area in Arizona until her retirement.

Ruth's interests and hobbies included sewing, counted cross stitch, cake decorating, belly dancing and golfing.  She also enoyed calligraphy, reading and creative writing.

Ruth is survived by eight siblings: Donna Knudtson of Madison, Diane Knudtson of Pasadena, California, Jeanne (Bruce) Green of Eleva, Nancy (Jeff) Ludwigson of Eau Claire, Carl (Jean) Knudtson of Fall Creek, Janice (Russ) Nicol of Eau Claire, Glenn Knudtson of Colfax, and Lois Kavanaugh of Neenah, Wisconsin.  Ruth is also survived by 12 nieces/nephews and 14 great nieces/nephews.  Ruth was predeceased by her parents, June and Richard Knudtson and a sister, Helen Knudtson, maternal grandparents Hilda and August Linse and fraternal grandparents George and Marie Knudtson.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, October 16th at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel in Altoona at 11:00 AM with burial following the service at Fall Creek Trinity Cemetery. Everyone is welcome afterwards to lunch at the Knudtson Farm south of Fall Creek.
