Rose O. Wrobel, 93, of Hudson passed peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Cambridge Senior Living. Rose Marks Wrobel was born on August 13, 1931, in Danube, Minnesota, to William and Rose Marks. Later she moved to Bird Island, Minnesota, where she attended and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School. Rose was very proud of her catholic education and her faith.
On June 23, 1956, she married Eugene Wrobel, Ensign of the United States Navy. She was a faithful navy wife raising three children, Greg, Laura, and Bill, as they travelled for the next 20 years. They lived in many places and returned to Minnesota to enjoy their retirement with family and friends.
After eleven years in Minnesota, Rose and Gene decided to move to Pensacola, Florida, where they enjoyed the sunshine and many friends. They lived in Pensacola for 27 years where Rose was a very active member at Little Flower Catholic Church. She was also active in the Sodality of Lady of Mount Carmel, Elkettes, and Felix Miga Center where she opened the Manna Food Bank on 57th Avenue and managed it for ten years as a volunteer. She thoroughly enjoyed her volunteer time. Rose enjoyed baking and made many of her famous Kahlua cakes for charity functions. In 2014, Rose and Gene moved back to Minnesota to once again be with family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Gregory Wrobel, and daughter, Laura Barr, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wrobel, her son, William Wrobel, her parents William and Rose Marks and her siblings, Edward Marks, Archie Marks, Cecilia Bratsch, Angela Bertrang, Gladys Lillegard, Marcella O'Rourke, Donald Marks, Gene Marks, and Jane Marks. She is survived by her sister Genevieve Gustafson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was a remarkable, strong, supportive and loving daughter, wife and mother and will be truly missed. Blessed be her memory.
Arrangements are pending. She will be buried alongside her husband Spring 2025 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family.
