Ronna Wold

Ronna A. Wold, age 86 of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Ronna was born on July 3, 1938 in Eau Claire to the late Tom and Harriet Muldoon.

In 1955 she married Richard Schlageter. Out of this marriage came 3 children. Later they divorced.

She was a very talented organist, professionally playing in night clubs and for the Hammond Organ Company. In 1955, she held the world record for most words typed in a minute on a manual typewriter, 156 words with 2 mistakes. She worked for Fox Promotions, which promoted Elvis’s impersonators and she was a professional secretary for Baird Investments. But most of all, she loved being a social worker at the Zastrow Nursing Home in Gilman.

Ronna was a very uplifting person. She loved to host parties to bring everyone together for a good time. She loved kicking up her heals and telling good jokes and stories. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and going to the casino. She had a very special bond with her great grandchild Nora. She was extremely proud of her grandson Officer Jordan Schwoerer currently enlisted in the U.S. Navy and would tell anyone that would listen. Most of all she absolutely loved spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children Michael (Anita) Schlageter of Eau Claire and Amy (Greg) Schwoerer of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren: Jacob, Baylie, Jordan, Adam, Anthony, Stephen and Nicole; 8 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Larry Wold, John Hemer, Roland Fox, her son Stephen Schlageter, her grandson Andrew and her Shih Tzu’s Minnie Pearl and Patsy Cline.

A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona with Fr. James Kurzynski officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at Prairie View Cemetery, Chippewa Falls at a later date.
