Rolland Veitch

Rolland “Rollie” E. Veitch, age 93, of Rice Lake, Wisconsin died Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Rollie was born 1930 in Allen, WI. Son of John& Eva (Burnham) Veitch, Rollie graduated from Eau Claire High school class of 1949.

Rollie married Donna Iverson in 1951 and then was drafted in the U.S. Army that August as a member of the 27 ^th Wolfhound Regiment and the 25 ^th Division.  He spent two years in combat in Korea as a section Sergeant on a 60-millimeter mortar.

Rollie and Donna had 2 sons together.  They later divorced.  In 1987 Rolland married Cathy Lapcinski.

Rollie engaged in hunting, fishing, golfing, and traveling. For employment he worked at Robert’s Wholesale Co. for 23 years as the head buyer in the purchasing department, and then for 16 years for Pope & Talbot as manager of the customer service department.

Rollie is survived by his wife, Catherine Veitch; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight (Bonnie) Veitch of Birchwood, WI. and Mark (Lisa) Veitch of Oxford, WI; 2 grandchildren: Dan and Mark Jr; 6 great grandchildren; a sister Helen Knight of Eau Claire and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents and his brother John.

A celebration of life will be held at Long Lake Lutheran Church, W3114 Church Rd, Sarona, WI on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Rodger Prois officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.  Internment with full military honors will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, N4063 Veterans Way, Spooner, WI at 12:00 p.m. (NOON).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Birchwood Area Food Pantry, 113-115 S.
