Roland Edwin Naset, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024.
He was born July 8, 1937 in Bloomer to Leon and Ruth (Chapman) Naset. Rolly graduated from Bloomer High School in 1956.
Rolly lived in Bloomer until his retirement as a heavy equipment truck driver when he moved north to pursue his life’s passion. For over 25 years Rolly, his hounds, and a crew of hounds men enjoyed running their dogs every day. Just as important, was the morning coffee after the run at the local coffee shop to gather with his fellow hounds men for laughter and camaraderie.
Rolly is survived by his children: Dale, Diane (Gary) Mitchell, Don (Beth Briggs); one grandson: Ryan (Clarissa) Naset; 1 great granddaughter Remini; 4 step-grandchildren: Damian (Sara) Prince, Jolene (Joe) Schindler, Kyle Prince, Robyn (Troy) Baier; and multiple step-great grandchildren. Niece Lisa (Ted) Goettl, nephew Scott (Stephanie) Naset: brother Lee “Stub" and Janice Naset. And his two remaining running walker hounds, Hagen and Fuzzy.
He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; daughter-in-law Pam (Zwiefelhofer) Naset; and great step-granddaughter Stormy Baier. Along with several of his beloved hounds that he passionately cherished.
A special thank you to the Robby Turner family for housing, and hunting dad’s dogs. Along with a special thank you to everyone that cared for, and assisted dad in these last six years of an amazing journey of true determination, will power and stubbornness to live life to the fullest regardless of the obstacles.
Rolly’s wishes were to be cremated with a private celebration of life to be held at a later date. The family will host a celebration of life in honor of Rolly this summer in July, friends and family will be welcome to attend.
