Roger Simar

Roger Howard Simar was born April 8th, 1940 in Blue Earth MN. He passed away in Eau Claire, WI on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the age of 84.

He graduated from Mound Westonka MN High School in 1958. He had worked for Schweigert Meats, Darlene Trucking, and for the City of Eau Claire Park and Recreation Department, and as a firefighter in North Port Florida and Brooklyn Center Minnesota with pride.

He is preceded in death by his parents Howard H Simar and Ethel Irene Simar (Soaper), and sister-in-law Susan Simar.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn Simar; his siblings: Jerry (Susan) Simar, Michael (Sandy) Simar; his in-laws Orlin (Irene) Lerdahl, George (Carol) Lerdahl, Richard (Vicky) Lerdahl, Gene (Lorri) Lerdahl, Cathy Lerdahl and Cindy Wedlund; and a beautiful blend of children; Debra Hunter, Renee (Marty) Hedin, Melaney (David Riggs) Simar, Betty (Maurice) Britts, Susan Bothman, Gary Walczak, Michael (Melissa) Walczak, Lori (Jason) Judkins; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rest in Peace sweet Roger, you will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of service.
