Rodney Monson

Rodney R. Monson, age 65 of Eau Claire, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 in Eau Claire.  Rod was born on November 21, 1957 in Eau Claire to the late Rudolph and Rose Monson.

He attended North High School and went on to work for Mike Payne Plumbing and 25 years at Midwest Manufacturing.

Rod loved spending time with his grandkids.  He was a master at “DAD JOKES” and he enjoyed hunting, 1960’s -1970’s Rock and Roll music and pontooning at Blueberry Lake.  His favorite team was the Green Bay Packers, which he was a proud stock holder.

He is survived by his dog Harley; wife of 39 years Laura; son Brandon (significant other Katie Stanton); son-in-law Jesse Patino; grandkids: Miles, Addy and Cameron; sister Debra Monson; sisters-in-law: Cyndi Wittig and Melissa (Jeffery) Gerdin; brother-in-law Ted Lynch (significant Jomiha Root) ; special friend Billy Sullivan; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death are his daughter Desaree Patino; parents; and his brother Marty.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Mt. Simon Park, 1100 Addison Ave., Eau Claire at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service and a fellowship with lunch will be from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
