Robert Knudson

Robert (Bob) Duane Knudson, age 83 of Altoona, WI passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Friday, July 21, 2023.

He was born on August 2, 1939 to Hogen and Oliana (Johnson) Knudson. He married Bonita (Bonnie) Scharlau on July 1, 1961. They later divorced.

Bob served in the armed forces (Army). He was a heavy equipment operator until his retirement and a member of Operating Engineers Local 139. He was also an avid Packers, Badgers, Nascar, and Brewers fan.

He is survived by his children, Joie Sullivan, Kevin (Vergene) Knudson, Connie Nyseth, Patricia Knudson, and Sandra (Tim Voss) Knudson ; grandchildren, Travis (Heather) Duncan, Kayla (Tony) Barber, Adam (Brandi) Duncan, Justin (Krystal) Knudson, Jordan, (Rachel) Knudson, Kevin M. Knudson, Todd Girard, Derek Girard, Andy (AJ) Girard, Abby (Travis) Latham, Matt Nyseth, Micheala (Dylan) Bloczynski , Aaron Mellien, and Jeremiah (Heather) Schummer;  25 great grandchildren; brother, Stanley Knudson; sister-in-law Patsy Knudson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Allen; granddaughter Justina Schummer; sons-in-law: Gary Duncan, Dave Sullivan, and Andy Nyseth; brothers and sisters: Arlene Knoepke, Helen Renz, Milton Knudson, Laten Knudson, Kenneth Knudson and Gordon Knudson; and brother and sister in-laws: Kenny Knoepke, Dean Renz, Virginia Knudson and Donetta Knudson.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, July 31 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona with Pastor Rob Troutman officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at the Holden Cemetery, Colfax.
