Robert Dutter
January 29, 1933 — August 3, 2024
On the morning of August 3, 2024, at the age of 91, Robert (Bob) Dutter peacefully passed away to be with those in Heaven that he has been missing so dearly.
Bob was born at home in the township of Pleasant Valley on January 29, 1933 to Nathan (Ted) and Lucille (Pederson) Dutter. Born into a farming family, Bob loved the country. He hunted, fished, camped, worked the land, and followed the animals with a camera, learning the voices and ways of nature. In his later years, he spent time with the love of his life, Marilyn, at their cabin on the Flambeau River enjoying nature.
Bob had a long career working for Eau Claire County Highway Department before retiring at age 60. Along the way, he helped his parents on the farm and had a Television Repair service, helping many of his neighbors. Bob was also quite a musician, playing guitar, violin, and drums. In his younger years he was a member of the Mississippi Ramblers, playing at dances all around Wisconsin and making record albums. His love for music has been passed down to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Robert will be missed by many of those who were lucky enough to know him. He is survived by his son Trig (Fran) Dutter, daughters Jeneen Candell, Leah Spindler, and Marni Dutter. He will live on through his grandchildren Jason (Mallory) Candell, Brittany (Erin Antunez) Candell, Andrea Candell, Nick (Kelsey) Dutter, Lee Spindler, and Nathan Spindler, along with great grandchildren Chase Candell, Atlas Antunez, Francis Dutter and Fredrick Dutter. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marilyn Dutter, infant grandson Jacob Dutter, brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Donna Dutter, and a multitude of friends and family whom he missed dearly.
Robert left us all with many memories. He will be missed and he will be remembered. He will be interred at Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church at a later date.
