Ricky A. Wilbur, 64, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on December 12, 2023.
Rick was born on August 13,1959 to Lorraine Wilbur and Ray Holmes in Chippewa Falls, WI. Rick grew up and attended schools in Eau Claire and went on to serve in the U.S. military.
Rick is survived by his children, Jessica Lund of Eau Claire, Jason (Marnie) Schultz of Eau Claire, Trisha Wilbur of Eau Claire and Kayla Wilbur of River Falls; Father, Ray Holmes of Mesa Arizona; sister Dawn Bouchard (Dave) of Eau Claire; brothers Kelly (Cindy) Holmes of Lexington, OK and Larry Holmes (Pam) of Eau Claire; grandchildren Mya, Elijah, Caleb, Jordan, Jade, Josh, Alanna, Isaiah, Gracie, Chanel, Antonio, Elias, Luna and Armando; his near and dear friends, Greg O’Brien, Billy Simmons, Bob and Sue Thompson and his side-kick Shih Tzu dog companion Keisha, along with nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Rick is proceeded in death by his mother Lorraine Radack, grandparents, brother Michael Wilbur and sister Michelle Gruninger.
Rick had unconditional love for his children and especially his grandchildren. He was a kind friend with an enormous heart to all who knew him. Rick was a hard-worker, living his life as an exceptional sheet rocker. He was proud of his home, keeping it in meticulous order. Rick was passionate about riding his Harley Davidson and taking his boat out fishing whenever he could.
Rick’s love for his constant companion Shih Tzu dog Keisha, was through and through. Where Rick went, Keisha was by his side. Car rides, walks, visits or just at home Rick wasn’t with our her. True companions and a bonded love until the end, Keisha was with Rick at the time of his passing.
Rick will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. He will be missed dearly.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Home, 535 S. Hillcrest Pkwy., Altoona, WI at 2:30 pm with Rev. Timothy Hallett officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. A private burial in Union Cemetery, Edson, Chippewa County will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
