Richard (Dick) A. Carlson, 81, of Eau Claire passed away peacefully at his home from cancer on
November 23, 2023, surrounded by family.
He was born in Little Canada, Minnesota to Arnold and Hazel Carlson on April 28, 1942. He was the
oldest of five siblings: Sandra Ward (Carlson), Gary Carlson, Dan Carlson, and Kathy Ayres (Carlson). He
attended Eau Claire Memorial High School where he met and married the love of his life. He and
Kathleen (Coggins) celebrated 61 years together just before his passing.
He worked for Lee Markquart Chevrolet for 27 years, and after retirement, he worked for L&M Delivery.
He was a very big part of his community volunteering for many organizations, especially his church. His
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was evident in everything he did. His belief in the power of God helped to
make his last days more peaceful.
Dick’s spirit will continue on in his wife Kathy, four siblings, three sons; John (Vicki), Peter (Jennifer),
Matthew (Tami), six grandchildren: Justin, Megan, Tait, Claire, Will, Emmett, and four great
grandchildren: Lauren, Kane, Veronica, and James.
A celebration of life will be with immediate family as per his wishes. Gifts or contributions can be
