Ramona "Mona" Jean Rongholt-Rondeau, 62, passed away peacefully at her home in Eau Claire, WI, surrounded by her loved ones. Mona was born on 7/12/1962 to Palma (Christopherson) and Harold Moy, of Mondovi WI. She graduated from Mondovi High School in 1979, attended Chippewa Valley Technical College, and later, Lakeland College, earning her Bachelors (1996) then Masters (2012). She dedicated the past 27 years at Mayo Clinic, ending as an IT Application Analyst.
Mona was a vibrant performer her whole life, initially being encouraged by her mother, Palma. She excelled at a wide variety of musical instruments while captivating audiences with her soulful vocals in local bands for 40+ years. You could also find her striking up a conversation with almost anyone she met, leaving them feeling like an old friend. She was a kind, joyful, and uplifting individual with an infectious laugh. Along with her joy, she was also determined to receive her Bachelors, then Masters, all while raising 4 children and working 50-hour weeks. There was nothing she couldn't accomplish.
Mona lived in Eau Claire for the majority of her life, finally buying her dream home two years ago. Countless hours with her partner, Mark Weibel, were spent customizing her "ranch". Mark has been with Mona for 5 years, bringing flowers every other weekend without fail. Mona was preceded by her parents, Harold and Palma; brother, Leon (and Jackie) Moe; sister, Joy Houge; brother-in-law, Marcus Quarberg. Mona is survived by her children Matthew Hoch, Megan (and Tyler) Ulberg, Maddie Rondeau, and Michaela Rongholt; two grandchildren, Emma and Bailey Ulberg.
