Peter “Pete” Thompson, age 62, died on June 29, 2022 in Marshfield, WI after a prolonged hospital stay.
He was born September 8, 1959 in Barron, WI. He attended high school in Barron and after worked as an electrician for several years.
Peter also lived in the Dallas area for many years. He had a number of close friends and enjoyed trips to Canada to go fishing with many of these friends. He also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin and fishing there as well. He was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed going deer hunting from a young age. Peter was a “jack of all trades” and could fix just about anything. He also loved spending time with his son and grandchildren.
He is survived by his son Travis (Ashley) Thompson of Clayton, WI; six grandchildren Remington, Wesley, Brooklyn, Maynard, Marshall, and Peter; siblings Teresa (Jim) Carlson and Darwin Thompson; paternal aunt Kearney Thompson; maternal aunt Lucy Johnson; uncles Jimmy and Paul Armstrong; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Ruth Thompson; siblings Marty, Bruce and Tim; nephew Benjamin Thompson; and many aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 12:00 pm, at the First Baptist Church of Hillsdale, 743 14 3/8 Street, Hillsdale, WI 54733. Pastor Chris Baker will be presiding over the service. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service and lunch to follow the service. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgeland, WI will follow after the lunch.
The family asks that donations be sent to Helpful Hearts Foundation, INC, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona, WI in lieu of flowers.
Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family with arrangements.
