Peter Spitt

Peter Alan Spitt, age 83, died at Mayo Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, WI on Sunday,

June 18th, 2023. Per his wishes there will be no local funeral service. He will be laid to

rest with a private burial ceremony at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire, WI.

Peter “Pete” was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, then moved to Minnesota with his wife

Sharon and two children; Gregory and Deborah. Pete worked for many years as a

property manager in Minneapolis, MN. Later, he switched careers and was the rental

car manager at Grossman Chevrolet in Burnsville, MN where he retired. Once retired,

Pete moved back to his hometown; Eau Claire, Wisconsin where he worked part time

as a driver at Eau Claire Ford.

Pete was a very kind and generous man. He was blessed with the gift of gab. He could

talk to anyone and make you feel very comfortable with the conversation, especially

around a good bon fire. Pete had many hobbies, his favorites were fishing, bird

watching, and traveling to different places in Wisconsin. He loved to be busy with

different projects, he could fix almost anything. Pete was always willing to help his

friends, neighbors, and family with anything he could. Above all, he loved spending time

at his son’s lake home in Morristown, MN or his daughter’s farm in Owen, WI.

Pete is preceded by his father and mother George and Margaret Spitt; his brother

Wallace Spitt; and wife Sharon Spitt.

Pete will be deeply missed by his son and wife; Gregory and Jill Spitt of Morristown,

MN; daughter, Deborah Johnson of Owen, WI; grandchildren; Harrison Johnson and his wife

Jessica, Anthony Johnson, Katelyn Molitor and her husband Mathew, Alissa Kirschenman and her

husband Joshua, and Nicholas Spitt and his girlfriend Temi.  Pete also had 4 great grandchildren:

Maverick, Grahm, Cohen, and Aubrey Johnson.

Our family would like to thank all the healthcare workers at Dove South and Mayo Eau

Claire Luther Hospital who contributed to Pete’s peaceful passing.

May his memory bring a smile to all those who knew him.
