Pauline (Phuong Le) Lu, 56, of Eau Claire passed away on September 13, 2021, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Born on August 2, 1965, in Saigon, Vietnam. Daughter of Que Tat and Tinh Lu. Pauline was united in marriage to Tac Cay Thin on September 27, 1988 and divorced in 1994.
In 1997, Pauline and her son, Khin Thin reunited with her parents and all siblings in United States. They were settled in Clear Lake and Mason City, Iowa, while she worked at Walmart and restaurant in Mason City to support Khin. In 2001, A new business opportunity opened in Las Vegas for Pauline’s younger sister Binh, so she and Khin moved with her siblings and parents to Las Vegas. In 2006, Pauline and Khin once again moved to Eau Claire to help Binh's two restaurants.
As a single mother to start a new life in a foreign country with very little English, it wasn’t easy at all for Pauline. However, she was very strong-willed and determined to make it happen. Pauline helped care for her mother in Eau Claire, she dedicated her whole life for her family. She was a very kind loving person, she always helping others when they needed her. She had many skills including spoke four different languages, hard working Mom, and good seamstress. She was a great cook, we all will be missing her cooking, especially Binh. She will be greatly missed!
Pauline's happiest time was in Christmas holiday of 2008, where she met Clark Nedland while working at a restaurant. They were in-love ever since. They enjoyed riding their Harley Davidson around the states. While Pauline was battling with her health since 2013, Clark had been by her side all the way.
Pauline loved CASINO and Chinese soap opera shows. She also loved to travel, her recent trips were to New York with Clark and sister Ha (Kim); Dominican Republic with Clark and her siblings; and November 2018, she went back to Vietnam to see her friends, Aunt and cousins, and travel to Cambodia with her friends.
Survivors include her son, Khin Thin of Eau Claire; brother Minh (Nea) Lu of Clear Lake, Iowa; sister Ha Lu of Seattle, Washington; brother Phi (Tina) Lu of Rowlett, Texas; brother Hai Lu of Eau Claire; sister Binh Lu of Eau Claire; significant other Clark Nedland of Prairie Farm; 7 nephews, 3 nieces, and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel (Cremation Society of Wisconsin), 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona, Wisconsin.
