On July 1, 1945, Paul Louis Sullivan was born to John and Madeleine Sullivan in Delhi, New York. He was baptized into Jesus on July 22, 1945. His parents lovingly raised him in God’s word both in the home and in Christian elementary schools. One year of Paul’s primary education included a year in a German school in Berlin, where his father was a Fulbright professor.

Studies then continued at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon; after graduating in 1974, Paul began his work in the WELS pastoral ministry.
In 1974, Paul married Jan Balko. The Lord blessed them with five children, all lovingly raised in the Lord from infancy through homeschool and high school years.
Paul served as a pastor in Grafton, WI; in Bethel Park, PA; and in Two Rivers, WI. Work in industry followed until he was called to serve as a professor at Immanuel Lutheran College, Eau Claire, WI. In 2019, Paul retired from ILC.
