Paul Messerschmidt

Paul D. Messerschmidt, 83, of Fall Creek, WI passed away on July 14, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, WI.

Paul was born in Eau Claire, WI on April 19, 1934 to the late Edward and Emma Messerschmidt. He graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1952. Paul was married to Joan Redlaczyk on August 24, 1958, married 58 years.

Paul worked as a farmer for all his life He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Fall Creek. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. He valued playing cards and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing dartball and horseshoe games.

Paul is survived by his wife, Joan Messerschmidt; children, Susan (John) Scoville, Larry (Marjorie) Messerschmidt, Dave Messerschmidt and Jean (Bill) Hooker; brother, Ewald Messerschmidt; sister, Laura Thalacker; grandchildren, Tyler, Corrinda Scoville; Benjamin (Rebecca), Emily, Lauren, Daniel Messerschmidt, Bradley Messerschmidt, Kayla (Nick) Jones; great grandchildren, Jamar, Malik Scoville, Sophia Jones; step grandchildren, Faith (Israel) Huron, Tiffany Scoville, Matthew (Amber) Danielson; 12 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Emma Messerschmidt, and infant brother, Arthur.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at St John’s Lutheran Church E11620 Co Rd JJ, Fall Creek, WI 54742. Pastor Kangas will be officiating.

Visitation will be held between 4-7pm Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Pkwy, Altoona, WI 54720 and one hour prior to the Funeral Service.
Burial will follow the Funeral Service at St John’s Cemetery Fall Creek, WI.
