Patricia A. Poppy, 85, of Marshfield, died Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Douglas Robertson officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Patricia was born May 24, 1937 at home on the family farm in Auburndale, to George and Marie Kieffer. She was a graduate of Auburndale High School. She married DuWayne J. Poppy December 29, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic church, Auburndale, WI.
Following her education, she was employed by Nelson Jameson Inc., Marshfield for 47 years, retiring 04/30/2002.
She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and their PCCW.
She was a Boy Scout leader when her sons were young. She volunteered at church every Tuesday morning for several years. Family was always the center of her attention, she so enjoyed family gatherings. Her greatest joy was supporting her children and grandchildren's sporting events, traveling many miles over the years to attend and cheer them on. She was a faithful Wisconsin sports fan as well, backing the Packers, Badgers, Bucks and Brewers.
Survivors include her six children: Cheryl (Ed) Kuhn of Neillsville, Allen Poppy of Gresham, Cindy (Joe) Stroik of Wittenberg, Jim (Monica) Poppy of Lindsey, Paul (Yvonne) Poppy of Auburndale, and Sara (Scott) Femal of Appleton. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren; two brothers: David and Mike Kieffer, brothers and sisters-in-law: Jack Uttermark, Sharon Fuerlinger, John (Jeanne) Poppy, Bob Lingford and Sue Poppy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, father and mother-in-law John and Mabel Poppy, one brother Richard Kieffer, one sister MaryLou Uttermark, sisters-in-law: MaryAnn Kieffer, Delores Klein, Clarice Kieffer, and Joan Lingford; and brothers-in-law: David Poppy, Don Klein, and Ivan Fuerlinger.
