Pamela Ekblad

Pamela Louise Ekblad, 74 (September 27, 1949-July 20, 2024) Loving wife of Dayton F. Ekblad and beloved mother to two children, passed away leaving a void her family cannot fill.
As the only child born to Betty Johnson in Fresno California in 1949. In her youth, she was a professional dancer and had the honor of performing with the hardest working man in show business, the “Godfather of Soul” himself, James Brown.
She met her husband, Dayton in Dallas Texas in 1968 and the two fell instantly in love. They were married the same year and were inseparable for 56 years.
She was a gifted, self-taught artist and woodworker. She was the co-founder of Daymela. She would sell her wears throughout the Midwest at local art shows. Her artistic passion was in wildlife paintings. She painted using different mediums: pencil, watercolor, charcoal. She provided original watercolors over the years in support of numerous wildlife organizations including Trout Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited and Whitetails Unlimited. She also served a term as the President of the Eau Claire Art Legue.
Pamela was a devoted mother to Dayton F. Ekblad, Jr. (Minerva) and Catherine Weiser (Scott), grandmother to five and great-grandmother to one.
