Michael Wellington

Michael Q. Wellington, 83, loving husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire, WI.

Michael was born to Quincy and Mary Lou Wellington in St. Paul, Mn on August 30, 1941. He married Colleen Peterson, his wife of 63 years, on July 22, 1961. Michael worked for NSP and was a member of Labor Union Local #563 until an injury required him to stop working. They purchased Wellington’s RedEye Saloon in Boyceville, WI in July of 1977. They lived and raised their family there until retiring in 1992. They then moved to Webster, WI until moving to Menomonie to be closer to family.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Colleen; children Lisa (Rance) Pederson, Kelly Wellington, Quinn (Miguelina)Michael, Tamara (Terry) Fedderly, Dennis (Mary) Wellington, and Brian (Tracy) Wellington. Grandchildren; Bobbie (Aron) Dunn, Daniel (Jessica) Pederson, Amanda Wellington, Cole (Amanda) Goracke, Cassandra (Josh)Duran, Cody (Lauren) Michael, Cinithia (Michael) Bransom, Minaicis Mata, Cesia Mata, Cassy Fedderly, Cara Fedderly, Jordan (Raelyn) Fedderly, Kayla (Tim) Sausi, Jacob (Megan) Wellington, Kjirsten (Ivan) Thull, Damek (Denae) Wellington, Bryce Wellington. Mike is further survived by his sisters, Kathleen Hall and Mary Wellington, and brother Dennis Wellington. 15 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Quincy and Mary Lou Wellington; his in-laws, Mildred and Henry Peterson; brothers Jimmy and Thomas Wellington and sister Patricia Prado; Brothers-in-law John Prado, Don Dahlberg, Ronald Hall, and Ronald Peterson; sister-in-law Beverly Dahlberg and great-grandson Kamdyn.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Boyceville Community Center in Boyceville, WI from 12pm – 4pm. As Mike was always opposed to flowers, the family requests no flowers be sent. Memorials are preferred to Cedarbrook Church, Menomonie, WI.
