Michael Thoma

Michael “Mike” Thoma, 62, of Chippewa Falls, WI passed away on July 3rd, 2024. Mike was born in Quantico, VA to Jerry and Joann Thoma on April 12th, 1962. He graduated from Osseo Fairchild High School in 1980. After graduation he spent three years in the Air Force and later attended CVTC. Mike worked in manufacturing at Mason Shoe and retired from Berry Plastics.
Mike enjoyed listening to the Brewer games on the radio while sitting in the garage, and cheering for his 49ers in the basement, while Jane cheered for the Packers in the living room.
Mike married Jane Vold after several years of being together. In the thirty plus years of being together, he played an important role in the lives of the kids and grandchild. He was the guardian we needed and he loved us very much. He was a very giving and generous husband and stepfather, always welcoming and providing for us.
Mike is survived by his wife Jane, their children, Matt Vold (Arin Tepp), Karli Vold (Craig Aasen), Jessica Vold (Kari Olson) and grandson Caelum Pederson. His brother Peter (Viv) Thoma, of Sarasota, FL and sister Sandy (Brett) Southard, of Brainerd, MN. His mother-in-law Millie Polinske, brother-in-laws, Virgil (Jackie) Polinske, Mike Polinske and Dale Polinske. Aunts Mary Ann Haas and Carol Thoma, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Joann Thoma, father-in-law Buck Polinske, grandparents, brother-in-law Doug Polinske, and several aunts and uncles.
A special thanks to our kids, Matt, Karli, Jess and grandson Caelum for their help and support throughout Mikes illness and passing.
A service and celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 16 th , 2024, from 3pm until 6pm at Wheaton Town Hall, in Wheaton, WI. There will be a burial at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Spooner at a later date.
