Martin Peplinski

January 2, 1942 — April 8, 2024

Martin John Peplinski, Jr., 82, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away on April 8, 2024. Martin (Marty) was born in Winona, MN, on January 2, 1942, to Martin Peplinski, Sr., and Eleanor (Wicka) Peplinski. He graduated from Cotter High School in 1960. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1960. Marty was stationed at Sculthorpe Royal Air Force Base in Norfolk, England. He also had temporary duty in the Congo and was honorably discharged in 1964.



Marty was married to Judy (Roth) Peplinski, his soulmate and best friend, on May 29, 1965. They were married almost 59 years.



Marty worked as a construction superintendent for Johnson Bros. Corporation for 27 years. He worked on projects all over the country. One of the projects he was most proud of was the Jim Falls Hydroelectric Dam. Marty also worked on a project for 18 months in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He and Judy owned Peplinski Construction Inc. for 14 years building homes around the Eau Claire area.



Marty enjoyed watching birds, NASCAR, and supercross. He also loved attending his grandkids sporting events and traveling the world with Judy.



Marty is survived by is wife Judy; daughter Sherry Bourget (Len Deprey) of Eau Claire, WI; son Jon Peplinski (Gina Abbott) of Vista, CA; daughter Marti Duquette (Peter Duquette) of Louisville, CO; grandchildren Benton and Devon Bourget; Tanner and Logan Peplinski; and Sophie Duquette; and sisters-in-law Donna Peplinski and Yvonne Peplinski; and brother-in-law Bill Roth.



Marty is preceded in death by his parents Martin Peplinski, Sr., and Eleanor (Wicka) Peplinski; brothers David and Steve; sisters Lorraine Todd (Richard); Judy Neff (Richard); and Joyce Pitts (Donald); and mother-in-law Eleanor Roth.



The family wishes to thank Dr. Eyad Al-Hattab, Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, and Mayo Clinic Hospice nurses. In lieu of funeral services, a celebration of life will take place at a date to be determined.
