Marlene (Stabenow) Glover

February 17, 1951 — December 31, 2024

Marlene A. (Stabenow) Glover, 73, entered into the Kingdom of her Lord as a faithful servant of her Savior on December 31, 2024 in Eau Claire.

Marlene was born February 17, 1951 to Alfred and Deloris (Vogler) Stabenow in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was baptized as a child of God on March 18, 1951 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Eau Claire. She professed her faith as a born-again Christian at Bethel Church while in high school. She shared her faith on weekends giving out bibles and praying with people.

Marlene graduated from Eau Claire North High School and then attended UM-Minneapolis as a recreational therapist and obtained a Masters as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Marlene's faith took her to New York City where she lived in a brownstone house which was owned by an Italian grandmother. While living in NYC she attended Bible College and counseled troubled youth and shared her faith at a teen challenge center. Eventually, Marlene moved to Oklahoma where she met Leslie Glover, who she knew was God's husband for her. Les was divorced and had two children for her to love and care for. Les and she were married for seventeen years. While in Oklahoma she worked as a home-based counselor working with children and families. She opened her heart and home to be a foster mother because she knew that was God's purpose for her. Marlene returned to Minnesota and then to Eau Claire where she brought and shared her joy and faith. She shared her faith and gospel through song and prayer. She touched many lives with the gospel, in word and deed. Marlene will be remembered for her smile, her willingness to pray with people in need and openness to meet people. She was a great example of Christ in character.

Marlene is survived by her brothers, David (Dianne) Stabenow of Minong, WI and Jerry (Ellen) Stabenow of Eau Claire; step-children, Brad Glover (Tulsa, OK. and Melissa Glover (Timothy Kapke) Broken Arrow, OK; step-grandchildren: Andrew and Raven Glover, Tulsa, OK and Landon and Sophia Kapke, Broken Arrow, OK; nephews: Steve (Vicki) Stabenow, Eau Claire, Kevin (Mary) Stabenow, Eau Claire, Eric (Sarah) Stabenow, Phoenix, AZ, Kyle (Alexandra) Stabenow, Rodgers, AK, Ryan (Annie) Stabenow, Breezy Point, MN, Ruben (Angie) McMahon, Waukee, IA; nieces: Karen (Daniel) Rodriguez, Eau Claire, Maija (Ezekiel) Thompson, Eau Claire; and many great nephews and great nieces.
