Marilynn Gilbert

April 13, 1942 — September 16, 2023

Marilynn Ann Gilbert, 81, of Osseo, WI passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, with her family by her side.

Marilynn was born April 13, 1942, in Milwaukee, WI to Walter and Marcella Drews (Meyer). For many years, Marilynn’s primary focus was on being a wife and mother.  As her children grew older, she decided she wanted to do more. In 1978, she proudly graduated from nursing school as an LPN. For the next 25 years, she worked at the Osseo Hospital and Nursing Home.

Marilynn wore many hats throughout her life.  Some of her proudest moments were as a Scout Den Mother, a Band Parent, and Girl’s Softball Coach.  Marilynn also loved to host holiday gatherings for family and friends. She shined at this by cooking and baking incredible food – usually enough to “feed an army”.  She loved to make candy and even taught classes for her friends.

Marilynn and her husband, Pete found a summer home in Woodruff, WI at Hiawatha Trailer Resort.  When Pete decided to retire and enjoy the golden years, Marilynn followed him into retirement, and they spent their entire summers at “The Lake.”  She loved fishing with Pete on nice days, and on rainy days you could find them playing cards with family, old friends, or the many new lifelong friends that they created at the campground. Their camper door was always open for anyone to visit. The winters she would keep busy much the same way at the home in Osseo, patiently waiting for spring to arrive.

Marilynn is survived by her Daughter Cheryl Stinnett; son Larry (Missy) Gilbert; grandchildren: Rebecca (Luke), Brandon, Kara (Michael), Tori, Elisha; Granddogs Simon and Lewis and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Marilynn was preceded in death by the love of her life Raymond R. (Pete) Gilbert, parents Walter and Marcella Drews; Sisters: Deanna Eckwright and Karen Nelson.
