Lucas Hanson
June 7, 1983 — November 22, 2023
Lucas Adamm Hanson, 40, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Woodbury, MN on November 22, 2023 due to complications of diabetes.
Luke was born on June 7
th
, 1983, to Lance Hanson and Mary Stoll. He graduated from North High School in Eau Claire in 2002 and attended Concordia University in St. Paul with a double major in Chemistry and Kinesiology. Luke’s true love was stonework and landscaping though, and he spent most of his career building amazing structures, displays, and works of art with his heart and hands.
Luke lived life to the fullest. He had many interests and hobbies that included playing and coaching football, fishing, hunting and camping on the farm, making wood pallet furniture, and creating incredible stone fireplaces, walkways, walls, and water features. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, from playing Barbies and constructing Legos, to riding 4-wheelers and building forts. Luke had a knack for making friends easily and was faithful, sincere, and loyal. If anyone ever needed help, it didn’t matter how busy or far away he was, he was there to help. He had an affectionate smile, a contagious laugh, and a personality that filled every room he entered. Everyone who met Luke…loved Luke, and we will miss him dearly.
Luke is survived by his father, Lance (Donna); mother, Mary Stoll (Larry); brothers: Mike (Dayna) and Ben (Rachel); sisters: Lesha and Libby Schmit (Mike); nephews and nieces: Nolan, Cole, Baylor, Ariya, Teyah, Emryk, Hannah, Payton, Porter and Paislee, all of whom he was affectionately known simply as “Uncle”. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Kathleen, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and his sidekick and forever faithful buddy and friend, Diesel. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Merlene Hanson, and his maternal grandfather, Donald Welk.
