Lorraine Dwyer

December 31, 1969 — March 27, 2024

Lorraine Agnes Dwyer passed away on March 27, 2024 after complications from a fall. She was born in Sparta, WI on May 4th, 1932 to Mary (Berendes) and James Kroeger. Lorraine graduated from New Lisbon High School in 1951 and then moved to Sparta, WI. There she met Thomas Dwyer at a dance and they eventually married. They celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to his death in 2002.  For many years Lorraine worked as a stay-at-home mom to their five children. In 1976 she began a 20-year career at Sears selling furniture and appliances.  She had a strong work ethic and discovered she enjoyed being in sales.  After retirement she volunteered for many years at Sacred Heart and the Paul Bunyan logging Museum in Carson Park.

Lorraine was an avid golfer, loved reading, playing cards, and shopping. She loved family gatherings and always had a good story to tell.  She was the heart of her family in so many ways.   We are so grateful for her wisdom, fun wit, warm smile, quick laugh and of course her love.  She will be deeply missed.

Lorraine is survived by her five children; Jim Dwyer, Steve (Jane)Dwyer, Barb (Stuart) Hutchison, Nancy (Thomas) Lukes and Timothy (Amy) Dwyer; ten Grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren; brother Jack (Renata) Kroeger; sister Caroline (Dave) Wagner; brother-in-law Mike (Bea) Dwyer; sisters-in-law Donna Dwyer, Diana June, Donna Kroeger and Julie Kroeger.  Many nieces and nephews and her dearest friend of over 60 years, Cathy Court.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Tom; brothers Eugene, Conrad and Wayne Kroeger; brothers-in-law Phil, Peter and Dave Dwyer; sisters-in-law Jan and Mary Dwyer and nephews Scott Dwyer and Matt Kroeger.

A funeral service will be held in Eau Claire at St. Olaf Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m. on Friday April 19, 2024. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Private family interment will be held at Camp Douglas Cemetery in Camp Douglas, WI at a later date.
