Lorne Albert Slagle (90) Of Pepin, WI died Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was born July 23
rd
, 1933, in Maxville, WI: son of Gerald and Beatrice Slagle. He attended grade school in Maxville, WI and high school at The Wisconsin Academy in Columbus, WI until he was called home to help run the family farm.
On May 14 th , 1953, he married Karen Wakefield in Alma, WI. They lived in Maxville until moving to the Milwaukee area in 1960. Lorne worked at Bendfelt Ice Cream Factory until they closed and then worked for Borden’s Factory. In 2007 Lorne and Karen moved to Pepin, WI. After Karen’s death he resided with his girlfriend until he passed.

Girlfriend: Joyce Mayhew
Son: Randy (Gina) Slagle of Manitowoc, WI
Daughter: Lorna (Jorden) Pfliger of Hazen, ND.
Grandchildren: Sophia Slagle and Jerry (Mary) Streuve
Great-granddaughter’s: Callie and Maggie Streuve
Along with many nieces and nephews.

Sister: Ramona (Slagle) Rodey
The Celebration of Life for Lorne will be held at The Corral Bar and Riverside Grill, 318 W. Main St. Durand, WI, on August 16 th , 2024 from 11:30am to 2:30pm. Burial will be right after that at Forrest Hill Cemetery in Durand, WI.
