Linda Walicki

Linda K. Walicki, 74 years old, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Osseo, Wisconsin, after her short journey with lung cancer. An amazing mother, grandmother and friend, was surrounded by many of her loved ones at the time of her passing.

Linda was born in Independence, IA on November 30, 1948 to Alva Ossman and Ethel Cottrell where she was raised and attended school, and later moved to Wisconsin. There she farmed for many years and wore many hats, such as working at Olson’s Hometown Cafe, Ashley Furniture, Shopko, Royal Credit Union, and then retired from McDonalds.

Linda enjoyed gardening, tending to her flower beds and mowing her lawn. She loved her fresh produce and canning. At family gatherings they all got to enjoy her cooking and her potato salad, cookies and so many other homemade recipes made with love will be missed. Linda enjoyed attending family functions including kickball, boat rides or enjoying the outdoors together. She had the gift to gab and could strike up a conversation with anyone, including neighbors.

Linda leaves behind her three children; Dan Palmer of Chippewa Falls; Angie (Palmer) and Jim Seichter of Augusta; and Kandy (Phend) and Terry Kolve of Chippewa Falls, and three grandchildren, Wyatt Seichter, Hunter and Savannah (Crosby) Lange and Paige Seichter and 4 step-grandchildren, Steve, Travis, Dakodah, and Loghan Kolve. Her brother DeWayne and Dianna (Nielson) Ossman of Rowley, Iowa; and brother-in-law John O’Brien of Alden, Iowa, as well as many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alva and Ethel (Cottrell) Ossman; her sisters, Darlene (Ossman) and Albert Althaus and Wanda (Ossman) O’Brien; her first husband Ronnie Palmer and last husband Gene Walicki.

Please join us to celebrate Linda’s life at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Altoona, WI 54720 on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. for visitation and 6 p.m. for a short service. Linda will be buried with Gene Walicki at a later date at Prairie View Cemetery Chippewa Falls.
