Letitia Notbohm

Letitia L. Notbohm passed away in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on October 16, 2022 at the age of 101. She was born on March 22, 1921, to Verner and Bernice (Barker) McCambridge in White Lake, Langlade County, Wisconsin.

Letitia graduated from White Lake High School in 1939 and graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota in 1942. During her nursing career she provided acute care and public health nursing.

She was a life member of St. Mary’s Alumni Association and the American Nurses Association. She served on the Wisconsin Legislative Committee for the American Nurses Association, and was a member of the League of Women Voters. Letitia was a life member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was active in the U.S. Army Officers Wives Club, and the city of Fond du Lac Park Board. During her 9 years on the Park Board she successfully advocated for the preservation of the historical Streetcar Waiting Station built around 1899 at Lakeside Park.

Letitia is survived by five children: Barbara L. Derlein of Friendswood, Texas; William R. (Cindy) Notbohm of Moon Township, Pennsylvania; Douglas R. (Marcy) Notbohm of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Mary L. Forbes of Fond du Lac and Peter V. (Grace) Notbohm of the Philippines; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Letitia was preceded in death by her lifelong love and husband Lt. Col. William R. Notbohm; her daughter Jane A. Notbohm; her parents; brothers Albert and Doyle McCambridge; and sisters Imogene Crummer and Nettie Blair.

Burial will take place at Cross of Calvary Cremation Garden in Fond du Lac following a private memorial service at the Chapel of the Risen Christ at Calvary cemetery at a later date.
