Lawrence Marten

April 8, 1942 — November 20, 2023

Lawrence Marten (Gus), 81, passed away suddenly on Monday evening, November 20 th , 2023 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Lawrence was born in Eau Claire on April 8, 1942 to Armin and Garnett (Schwoch) Marten. He was raised on a farm in Lincoln Township, rural Fall Creek and graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1960.

Over the years he worked at Foster Feed Mill, Empire Gas and Equity Livestock. He served two years in the Army and was Honorably Discharged. He was a member of the Brackett American Legion. Lawrence enjoyed working with Jerry Andrews at his Auction Service for many years. He also helped out around the family farm and bartended at Rolly’s Coach Club.

Lawrence had fun times hunting and going to the casino with his good friend Marty. He was an avid Packers and Badgers fan. He caught games at the 400 Club and Rolly’s. He spent mornings playing cribbage with friends at Rolly’s.

Lawrence will be deeply missed by his son Dean (Toni) Marten, his Grandchildren Ashly (Brandon) Wathke and Nik (Hannah) Marten; Step-Grandsons Trevor and Tanner, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
