Larry Gene Ryan, 87 died peacefully July 14, 2024 Marshfield Medical Center- Park Falls. He was born October 27, 1936, the son of Lawrence “Pat” and Mae Ryan.
He graduated from Cadott High School in 1955. Following graduation he served in the United States Air Force. He then worked for American Motors and became a Union Electrician. On August 13 th , 1966, he married Hazel June Nelson and eventually settled in Loretta, WI, where they owned and operated Loretta Mobil until retiring in 2003. He founded and served as Fire Chief for Loretta-Draper Fire Department for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother James. He is survived by his wife, Hazel, his 3 daughters, SuzAnne (Todd) Foth of Ripon, WI, Leslie (Joe) Borne of Park Falls, WI, Patricia (Drew) Lietzow of Athens, WI. His brother Charles “Chuck” (Fran) Ryan of Roseburg, OR and his sister, Carol (Keith) Folkmann of Ames, IA, his grandchildren, Spencer, Mason, and Teagan Foth, Dylan and Hannah Borne, and Ryan and Ruby Lietzow, three great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 26 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Loretta, WI with a luncheon to follow. Visitation will be held the hour prior to service.
