Larry Wayne Davidson, 70, of Eau Claire passed away January 22, 2018 at Dove West Eau Claire.
Larry was born in Eau Claire October 22, 1947, to Clifford and Mary Jane Davidson. He graduated from North High School in 1965 and attended UWEC prior to serving in the United States Air Force. Larry married Diane Rae Goller on October 20, 1968. During their first few years of marriage they lived in Biloxi, MS (Keesler Air Force base) and Oscoda, MI (Wurtsmith Air Force base), before returning to Eau Claire to raise their family.
Larry was part owner of Appliance and T.V Service and repaired more TVs and VCRs than you could count in the 80’s and 90’s. Larry enjoyed helping his customers, especially the elderly ones. He later worked at Gore and Hutchinson Technology.
Larry was blessed to have a life filled with laughter surrounded by wonderful family and friends. He treasured his time at Lake Hallie golfing with his buddies, spending time up north at the lake fishing with his brother, and trips to the casino. Larry had a witty sarcasm that he happily shared with friends and family. He will be well remembered for his kind-hearted “zingers.” Since his youth, Larry had a strong, private Christian faith and appreciated his pastor coming to visit and offer communion while at Dove; this provided him great comfort.
Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife Diane. He is survived by his son Eric (Beth) Davidson of Holmen; son Patrick of Eau Claire; daughter Laura (Greg Andersen) Davidson of Osseo; his mother, Mary Jane Davidson; his sister Cheryl (Sam) Stagliano; granddaughters, Chloe Davidson, Bailey Schwagel, Natalie Andersen, and Melanie Andersen; and extended family, and friends. Larry was also preceded in death by his father, Clifford, and brother, Brad Davidson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Pkwy, Altoona. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., with the funeral service at 11 a.m. followed by lunch. After lunch, burial will be held at Prairie View Cemetery, Lake Hallie with full military honors by American Legion Post #53, Eau Claire.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Dove West Eau Claire for care that they provided, Randy and Jean Mundt, and the friends and family who visited Larry the last few years.
