Larry Bain
June 11, 1944 — June 3, 2024
Larry R. Bain
Larry R. Bain, 79, passed away on Monday, June 3rd, 2024. He was born on June 11th, 1944, son of Roy and Fern Bain, and raised on the family farm in rural Fall Creek.
Larry graduated from Fall Creek high school in 1963. He was an active member of the FFA. He married Judy Hays on July 23rd, 1966, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, and they would have soon celebrated 58 years together.
Larry was blessed by knowing where he was happy and content in this world, at home on his family dairy farm in rural Fall Creek. Through a demanding life, never did he complain about the endlessly hard farm work. He met the challenges life handed him with strength and confidence. When farming was no longer possible he found the strength to change and adapt, and he continued working until his retirement from Hutchison Technology, Inc. in 2012. His example continues to influence and inspire the work ethic and lives of his boys, Tom and Tim, in their own pursuits.
Larry is remembered as a quiet and kind man. The thing that brought him the most joy was spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. He knew exactly who lived where and kept up on neighborhood connections and current events. Listening to his police scanner, attending farm auctions, and going on afternoon drives with Judy were some of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed sipping on Diet Coke, catching up with his friends at McDonald’s. He lived and passed his own way, and the world needs more like him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Ida Bain, and Arthur and Margaret Hentschel; parents, Roy in 1968 and Fern Bain in 2007; two infant children, Robert in 1968 and Angela in 1969; and his granddaughter, Aylen in 2024.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; two sons, Thomas (Jennifer) and Tim (Chris); grandchildren, Nathan, Janelle, and Sam; Sisters, Penny (Dick - deceased) Erickson, Jean (Lynn) Yolitz and Marlene (Darrell) Rud.
“Do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
