Lanny Stewart

Lanny Thomas Stewart, 83, of Marshfield WI, passed away on December 7, 2024.

Born March 9, 1941, to Arthur and Charlotte (Stryk) Stewart, Lanny grew up in Withee and graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1959. He briefly attended UW-River Falls, then moved to St. Paul, MN where he worked as an accountant. Lanny eventually returned to Wisconsin where he worked alongside his father to run Stewart's Redville Dairy/Stewart Cheese Corporation in Greenwood, WI that became a staple in the community. After the closing of the cheese factory, Lanny worked in various fields including sales, insurance and manufacturing. When he wasn't working, Lanny enjoyed spending time outdoors golfing, hunting, and fishing. During football season you could find him cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers. His attention to detail and creativity made him a skilled woodworker, always looking for the next project to tackle.

Lanny had three marriages throughout his life. He and his first wife, Evelyn, had four children together before eventually parting ways. He later married Mary Tischendorf, staying by her side until her passing. Years later he and Martha Thews married but later divorced. Lanny is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Charlotte Stewart, wife Mary Stewart, former wife Evelyn Goldbach, and granddaughter Marcia Stewart.

Lanny is survived by sister Ramona Scharf; children Mark (Darlene) Stewart, Daniel (Marla) Stewart, Andre' (Rhonda) Stewart, and Corina (Matthew) Morrison; grandchildren Saydi (Josh) Olson, Alex Stewart, Mason Stewart and Tia Stewart; great-grandchildren Leo and Myla Olson; and nieces Lyn (Jim) Pogodinski, Missy Scharf, and Penny (Mike) Elllis. He is also survived by several step-children and numerous extended family.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Colonial Center Skilled Nursing in Colby, WI, for caring for Lanny during his last months.
