Kathy Larson Wardo, passed away unexpectedly at Marshfield Hospital, Eau Claire on October 22, 2024. Kathy was born on July 18, 1946 in Rice Lake, Wi to Gerald and Marie (Vinopal) Larson. She attended St. Joseph’s school and Rice Lake High School, graduating with the Class of 1964. She attended cosmetology school in Eau Claire before moving to Chicago where she met the love of her life, her husband of 56 years, Dale. Kathy and Dale made their home in rural Rice Lake where she was employed by the phone company and McCain Foods until retirement. Kathy enjoyed reading, visiting vineyards, picking cherries and apples, exploring new places and spending time with her “birthday group”. She cherished time with her family, especially special moments with her granddaughters.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Dale, her daughter, Angie, (Bryce) Organ, Haugen, her son, Bill, Royse City, Texas, and her granddaughters, Sydney and Taylor. She is also survived by her siblings, Debbie (Mike) Christopherson, Eau Claire, Dick (Tammy) Larson, Rice Lake, Beth Larson, Chandler, Arizona, Steve (Cheryl) Larson, Rice Lake and Peggy (Dustin) Hamacher, Lafayette, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held from 1 P.M. until 3 P.M. on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1121 Nunn Ave, Rice Lake, WI 54868. T he family would prefer memorials for a college fund for Kathy’s grandchildren.
