Julie Jean Gilles, 49, of Eau Claire was called home into the arms of Jesus.
She passed suddenly Saturday, April 1, 2023 at her home in Eau Claire.
Julie was born in Eau Clare Feb 23, 1974, to David and Patricia (Glenz) Burger.
She was a loving and kind wife, Aunt, Sister and friend.
She grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School.
She then attended UW-Stout after high school for a few years.
During High School, she took her first job as a pharmacy technician at Kmart in Chippewa Falls.
Julie moved around within the pharmacy profession making many long-lasting friendships.
After Kmart, she worked for Shopko, Walmart, and finished her career at Mayo Clinic as a prior authorization specialist in the pharmacy field.
Julie’s hard work and contagious smile will be missed.
On May 3, 2003, she married the love of her life, Thomas (Doc) Gilles at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boyd, WI with Monsignor Richard Gilles as celebrant. The couple was approaching their 20
th
wedding anniversary next month.
The love between this couple was deep and very apparent.
Family was of great importance; she loved and was loved by many nephews and nieces and many great memories were had.
Julie enjoyed scrapbooking with her friends.
She enjoyed many weekends with her “DK Scrappers” group.
She also enjoyed many evenings around the campfire with family and friends.
Julie loved being on-line and sharing her life and pictures of all the big fish her love caught with many people.
Julie is survived by husband, Thomas Gilles; mother, Patricia Burger, of Chippewa Falls, brother, David Burger (Laura) of Shakopee, MN; Sister/Brother-in-laws, Karen (Adam) Leute of Divide, CO; Monsignor Richard W. Gilles of LaCrosse, Jill (Tom) Pomietlo of Chippewa Falls, LeAnn Gilles of Chippewa Falls; Nephew/Nieces, Braden, Emilee, and Grant Burger of Shakopee; Zach and Garrett Leute of Divide; Alexis(Ben) Pomietlo of Eau Claire; Rachael Pomietlo of Minneapolis; Olivia (Caleb) Heckman of Pewamo, MI; Luke Pomietlo of Chippewa Falls. Julie was preceded in death by her father, David A Burger and mother-in-law, Diann Kosakoski.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will take place at Prairie View Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
In lieu of flowers, donations will go to help pay for the funeral expenses.
