She was raised on the family farm in Sarona.
Later in her childhood, her mother and father relocated to the Arland area, where she then attended Barron High School.
After high school, Julie traveled to many states including Missouri to visit her sister Jean.

She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling and dancing.
During one of her outings is when she met the love of her life, Terry Floan.
They were married on August 11, 1984, at the First Lutheran Church in Barron.
They had relocated to the Arland area and there they had built their home together, raising their two daughters.
Julie had many hobbies that kept her busy, but her favorite was having her large garden.
She enjoyed watching it grow, canning, and picking wild raspberries to make jelly.
She enjoyed many summer days going fishing, attending Polka Festivals, agate picking on the dirt road she lived on, and listening to her music.
In the last few years, Julie enjoyed watching the birds, feeding the neighborhood cats, and spending her time with loved ones.
