Julie Anne Dasher
Age 76, of Eau Claire, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. Julie was born on April 6, 1948, in Duluth, Minnesota.
Julie graduated from Hermantown High School in 1966. In 1967, she met Gene Dasher through a blind date arranged by friends while Gene was stationed at the Air Force base in Duluth. They were married on June 7, 1969.
Throughout her life, Julie held a variety of jobs, but one of her most cherished roles was being a devoted homemaker and mother to her sons. She also worked as a secretary and treasurer for Northern City Baptist Church in Duluth, as well as for the Catholic Diocese of Duluth and One in Christ Church in Eau Claire. Julie was always eager to help others and took pride in contributing to her community.
Julie had a love for plants, and her home was filled with greenery. She was also known for her baking, especially her fudge, Rice Krispie bars, and deviled eggs. Above all, Julie adored her grandchildren and was thrilled to be called "Grammy" by her great-grandchildren. Her best friend and confidante was her sister, Barb.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Vernie and Shirley VanGuilder. She is survived by her loving husband, Gene; sons Brian (Julie) and Eric (Becky); grandchildren Ethan (Elizabeth), Emily (Andrew), Brandon, Katie (Seth), Kaylee, Joey, Grant, and Luisa; great-grandchildren James and Levi; and siblings Barb (Paul) Detlefsen, Steve (Cindy) VanGuilder, and Jim (Deb) VanGuilder, along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona, with Pastor Vameng Pha officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington.
