Joan Arlene Dolman, age 93, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin passed away at Care Partners on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Joan was born in Eau Claire on March 18, 1931 to Arthur and Jenett Glenz. She graduated fom Eau Claire Senior High in 1949. She worked as an accountant for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for 28 years before retiring in 1998. Joan had many hobbies and interests including cross stitch, where she made elegant and whimsical pieces that were prized by all who saw; candy making, creating delicious, professional grade chocolates and hard candies; knitting and sewing, making sure her daughter Janet remained in designer sweaters through most of her adulthood; and reading, specifically a love for authors John le Carre and James Patterson, a lover of mysteries and Chinese history books. She was a big believer in charity and liked Hope Gospel and donated often to no kill animal shelters.
Joan is survived by her daughter Janet, half-brother John Glenz and half-sisters Judy and Jane Glenz and Margaret Madsen.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
The family of Joan would like to thank the caregivers at Care Partners for the compassion and love they showed to Joan. In particular, a special thank you to Monica who knows how important she was to Joan.
Per her wishes, there will be no funeral services.
