Jeffrey P. Swanson, age 74 of Altoona, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at his residence. He was born on November 1, 1946 in Moline, Illinois.
When he was younger, Jeff had a passion for the Boy Scouts. After hard work and determination, he achieved the highest honor of being an Eagle Scout. This hard work and dedication led him to Michigan Tech University where he graduated and spent most of his life as a Civil Engineer with the WIDOT. He worked on many projects which included the 53 Bypass.
Jeff was a fun loving guy with an infectious laugh. He was a man of many talents – a jack of all trades type of guy. Jeff was an excellent carpenter, an avid Green Bay Packers fan, hunter, and bowler. When he was younger, he took tap dancing and was involved in marching band.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, who he married on April 29, 1983 in Kawkawlin, MI; daughters: Amy Hofmeister of Midland, MI, Amanda (Nate) Lewis of Bedford, MA and Anne (Ryan) McMahon of Macomb, MI; grandchildren: Joshua, Ashley and Lindsay Hofmeister, Henry and Olivia Lewis, and Cayden, Connor and Collin McMahon.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Elwyn and Thelma Swanson; his first wife, Kathleen; son-in-law, Mike Hofmeister and his brother, Victor Swanson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November, 2, 2021 at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona with Pastor Jeff Carlson officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 1st at the funeral chapel from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Eau Claire.
