Jean Evelyn Chaput, age 99, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Oakwood Health Services in Altoona, WI under the care of St. Croix Hospice.
Jean was born February 26, 1923 in Mondovi, WI to Elsie (Holcomb) Helwig and Lester William Helwig. She graduated from Eau Claire Sr. High School in 1940.
On November 25, 1950, she married George L. Chaput. They lived in Eau Claire all of their married lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; her parents; infant brother, Lester Aaron; brothers Walter and Russell; and sisters Edna Eliason and Irene Willy.
Jean is survived by their four children: Jim (Michelle), Mark (Roseanne), Carl (Monica), and Diane; and grandchildren: Alex, Zachary, Michael and Rianne.
A Memorial Service will be held later this summer.
